Elon Musk Plans To Take Tesla Private. Musk recently tweeted that he plans to take Tesla private and is considering raising the necessary funds.
The proposed deal would be one of the biggest go-private deals in history. The company would have to raise at least $72 billion in debt and equity, or about $420 per share.
The deal would also be one of the largest in the company’s history. The plan also includes an equity investment from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund. The Saudi fund has an almost five percent stake in Tesla, which could reach as high as $30 billion if it goes private.
Elon Musk Plans To Make Tesla A Private Company
Taking Tesla private would eliminate the pressure that comes with being publicly traded. As a publicly traded company, Tesla must disclose certain information, including debt levels, personnel changes, recent lawsuits, and executive compensation.
However, if the company were privately held, Musk would not have to worry about making quarterly earnings calls and meeting quarterly financial goals.
As a result, Tesla would be free of the scrutiny of Wall Street analysts and would be free to make more informed decisions based on long-term shareholder interests.
